South Wales benefits from a strong infrastructure. The M4 motorway connects South Wales and West Wales and also provides a direct link to London, Bristol and the M5 motorway. The A465 (Heads of The Valleys Road) improvement works has further linked the South Wales Valleys and improved connectivity with Birmingham and the Midlands.

The South Wales Main Railway Line provides direct services from Swansea to London Paddington. There are also secondary lines that connect the Valleys of Wales and the South Wales Metro will further improve this service. Cardiff airport is the international airport of Wales and provides links to worldwide destinations. The Southern border of Wales lies on the Bristol channel and is served by numerous ports situated in key commercial locations including Newport, Cardiff, Barry, Port Talbot and Swansea.
